Every year from 1991 until 2008, Beardo organised a small, local blues festival in the south-east of Pennsylvania, starting out as "Bandana's Blues BBQ" but eventually simply called "Bandana Blues", just like the podcast.
Beardo's wife Susan was a crucial force in organizing this annual happening. When Susan suddenly passed away in early 2009, this sad event brought an end to this endeavor, making the 18th annual in 2008 the last one.
